lyrics

In the month of october
When the wind begins to chill
It's then I go walking
Way out in the hills

Beyond the stores and restaurants
Past the housing rows
Through the brush a dusty trail
Where a few hunters go

There is a lonely reservoir
Where the last road ends
And a certain feeling
Brings me here again

High above the city
Farther down below
I walk along from top to top
To see what they will show

Near a rock I stop to rest
And ease my ragged feet
Take a drink of water
Have a bite to eat

Just a little further on
Then I'll turn around
I saw an alpine meadow
And for it I am bound

I reach my destination
A field of grass so wide
I see a man is standing
Across the other side

The figure moves toward me
And I feel no fear
I wonder who is wandering
So far away out here

As he's coming closer
Soon we both shall meet
It see the stranger's very tall
Maybe seven feet

And now a realization
Slowly sinking in
He seems somehow familiar
Naked with red skin
