Silent 02:20
In the din of a smokey place She stared a hole right through my face I didn't have a thing to say But it really wouldn't have mattered much anyway It seems like now so long ago Her eyes showed me all I'd ever know When all the people came and went And to the end she was silent No, don't speak Twitches tell of love and hate But words do not communicate Her body is the language high And the mammals all seem to know why For subtleties cannot be known Until they can be truly shown And all the trying whispered lies Cower behind trembling eyes No, don't speak Right up to now from yesterday She never found another way For an animal it's hard won trust Beyond fear and beyond lust It's worth the violence to me To live outside captivity Without the reassuring sound Under which the truth is drowned No, don't speak

On And On 03:01
Well I've been stranded in this town I don't know if I've ever been this far down It always seems there's just a little more Underneath the basement floor Well I should leave, I should leave today I don't know who would notice I was gone anyway You know that pressure has just begun Get out the way and let that river run Let that river run, on and on Somewhere beyond the setting sun Let that river run, on and on What can you say, what's done is done Well how's the drugs, the booze and the sex Well do you know of something I might try next How come you never have anything to say Tell me you love me, like back in the day Give me a call, yeah drop me a line Maybe later we'll pretend it's fine This way of living has taken it's toll Get out the way and let that river roll Let that river run, on and on Somewhere beyond the setting sun Let that river run, on and on

Lost 03:47
Where have I been These seven years and more Well I don't remember much I was found near the shore I've wandered this land Finally to your door And nothing's familiar I don't know anymore When I missed the boat But we still had to cross In those frigid waters Hope was lost So now you tell me And it's just like a dream I can almost believe That it's just what it seems Now you hold my hand And we speak of fate As we walk through the night So dark and so late When I missed the boat But we still had to cross In those frigid waters Hope was lost You didn't get what you wanted And could no longer wait Well I guess I was lucky I was sparred in a way

Your Place 05:04
I walk the streets From the hill to the oceanside Along the tracks To where I stay The streets are vacant And I don't know a soul Still in town On this holiday But here she comes Walking straight at me I'll look to the ground And scurry away For I am a shadow And she is the light She burns so bright That I could never say How I'm so far from my home star Where I fell from grace It's been so long, how could it be wrong To take me to your place I heard my name And swallowed my pride She took my hand And she smiled For I'm so far from my home star Where I fell from grace It's been so long, how could it be wrong To take me to your place

Take Me 07:13
As we drift on Oceans are waiting The moon flies over The gun black night If you think you're hearing the ghosts Then you possibly may be right Take whatever you can take Stolen along the way Make whatever you can make Of my desire my soul Screaming with my eyes Take me It's like the clouds Rolling in overhead Like the damp leaves where We made our bed Close your eyes can you see me now In the sunsets electric light For all of the years that to you I was dead I'll sing you sad songs for the tears that were shed When we will sit on the back porch again Don't know how, don't know when Take whatever you can take Stolen along the way Make whatever you can make Of my desire my soul Screaming with my eyes Take me

about

Enziam 010
Following the release of BOC Live in Oslo, the unfinished master tapes from what would have been the Gibbon Family Singers third release were re-discovered. Minimal overdubbing and mixing salvaged some of the tracks, which are compiled here. No original members came forward to work on the project or to object.
